Panel day…..

I did my panel discussion today. It was so nice and here are some things to remember:

- CA + some other modality

- Definition of ‘task’

- Any pedagogical implications?

- Cognition, cognitive processes,  affordances

- Think carefully about what exactly are you trying to do?

- Your contribution to the sum of knowledge in the research community

- Wednesday, they have a tea kind of seminar in King George IIV at 3 pm

- Try to see David Leat

- Scott, do a presentaion for CALL class next semster

Tomorrow is the last day of school. I’m having a progress panel tomorrow. I feel so much stress. It’s really difficult to put all the stuff you’ve done in a 15 minute presentation. Above all, I think it’s much harder to easily convince the panel of your case. They will be ready to scrutinize your work. Anyway, I’m just trying to relax and pull up myself together and get it done.

The good thing is as soon as I finish the panel, I’m going home for a couple of months. Woooh, what a relief!!!

Amazing technology………

Stop labeling!

It’s good and healthy for us humans to be different. And it’s always OK for us not agree on all things all the time. we should be to have a degree of resilience and tolerance to accept different views and opinions. I don’t think it’s rationally justified to label people and classify them on the basis of their color, religious, or ethnic backgrounds. it’s even more detrimental to base your dealings with other people on these grounds. It’s a very flaky argument. We all are humans…..

Progress panel

Next Monday is the day for me to present my PhD work to the progress panel. It’s scary because their decision is critical and going ahead in the program is dependent on what they decide. I’m full of hope that it’s gonna be OK. I always overuse this work ‘it’s gonna be OK’ because i strongly believe that we need to optimistic and positive all the time even in our most critical moments.

Newcastle…

Newcastle is the best… It’s a very nice place to live and spend your free time. It’s very different from the place I came from. Back home, I live in very small village with my mum and friends around. So small that all residents know each other. It’s a different type of social life. In Newcastle I miss this sense of social connectedness. I’m trying to make friends and trying to get connected to neighbors. It’s always good to be open and know more about different styles of life and culture.
